I’ve been specialising in portraiture alongside my commercial work for a few years now. One thing I’ve noticed is portraiture gets a bad rep… think corporate headshots with dull backgrounds you’ve had to do for work, or out-dated portraiture from the 90’s with bad posing. I come from a Fashion and Beauty background, which is something I bring in to my portrait shoots, understanding women want to feel empowered, confident and elevated. And now for the first time, I am bringing together the creative women I work with to completely pamper you with hair, makeup & styling.

I know it can be terrifying to get in front of the camera, we’ve all gone through stages in our lives as women when we aren’t feeling confident, our bodies are different, or we have everyday stresses effecting our confidence. These sessions are for those who want to elevate their usual look and be styled & made up before stepping in front of the camera for fresh imagery of themselves. You’ll be supported, guided & celebrated through the entire process.

Directing comes naturally for me whether you are a well versed in front of the camera or someone who has never been photographed before. I will give you plenty of direction on how to position yourself to best present your persona, body type or how you’d like to be presented.

My vision is to set a new standard of beauty. Because everyone should have the opportunity to exist in beautiful images of themselves, and to be seen.

Maegan McDowell:
Commercial & Editorial Fashion Photographer

12+ years specializing in beauty and fashion Photography. My work has been featured in local magazines and I absolutely love making others look and feel beautiful through imagery that lasts. Additionally I co-own a leather fashion brand 'Dea' and do modelling occasionally on the side.

Anoushka Van Rijn:
Commercial + Editorial Fashion Stylist & Owner of jewellery brand Anoushka Van Rijn

Stylist, model, and owner of her name sake jewellery brand Anoushka Van Rijn, has seen her collaborating with well known New Zealand designer Karen Walker, and has recently started selling internationally. Her work has been featured in British Vogue, Vanity fair as well as local magazines, including gracing the cover of Viva Magazine earlier 2022. Anoushka’s mission is to inspire woman to embrace and celebrate their unique authentic selves through style and design.

Rebekah Banks:
NZ Makeup artist of the year 2017/2018 & owner of Sweet Spots

The most sought after Makeup Artist from my previous portrait sessions - Rebekah has won multiple awards including NZ Makeup Artist of the Year. With over 13 years experience, she also is a huge advocate for skincare, and is the co-owner of brand Sweet Spots. We all love her dog Kyro whom she brings everywhere.

Kelly Manu:
Multi Award winning 10+ years editorial hair stylist & owner of UNA Salon

Kelly is an artist supported by L'Oreal Professionel teaching all over the country with her work published in over 12 countries!

THE PACKAGES

 

2.2 Hour Studio Session

These sessions are great for those who are a bit more nervous in front of the camera and want to tip-toe in and get amongst the feeling of what it’s like to be on set. We organise these most months on a fixed date, offering a quicker option focused on a full day with time slots for individual people. You still get the pampered experience of makeup, hair and styling.

  • 2.2 Hours Overall

  • 3 stylised outfits with your own wardrobe

  • 1x Full Hair and Makeup look

  • 1 hour in front of camera

  • Full direction in posing

  • 10 Retouched images of your choosing

Full Day Makeover Session

Wanting more than just portraits? Perhaps you’d like a learning experience - get to know outfits that suit your body type, understand the makeup colours that elevate your look. Time for a new hair do? Get some advice from our hair stylist, by the end of the day you’ll have a whole new you. It’s all about rediscovering your style and your sense of identity with makeup, to hairstyle to wardrobe.

  • Begin the day with a briefing with Fashion Stylist Anoushka Van Rijn on current style and what you’d like help with in your wardrobe.

  • Shopping at 1-2 stores for 2 outfits. (2hrs)

  • Lunch Platter

  • Makeup Do-Over and discussion with Rebekah Banks on colours and makeup that suits you. (1.5-2hrs)

  • Hair style session with Kelly Manu and tips on colours and cut at her salon.

  • Photo Session with Maegan McDowell of your final makeover and outfits. (1.5hrs)

  • Receive 15 Retouched images of your choosing.

Half Day Private Session

Not wanting to rush for time, this is a great halfway point to get a variety of imagery with complete focus on you. Great for those you don’t want to commit to a full day in one place. Choose being in the studio or on location.

  • 5hrs (8am - 1pm or 1pm - 6pm)

  • 3 styled outfits + own wardrobe

  • 2x Hair and Makeup looks

  • Nibbles Platter

  • Studio or location

  • Full direction in posing

  • 15 Retouched images of your choosing

Full Day Private Session

More outfits, more looks, more time, more shots. Choose being in the studio, and/or somewhere on location to really get the most of being in front of the camera. The day is yours.

  • 8hrs (8am - 6pm)
